For those of you on this blog who did not vote for President-Elect Obama, do not be disheartened. You voted your convictions. As i said in an earlier post on 11-01-08, "The African-American side of me is proud that a Black man has a chance to become President". Though we may not agree with his polices God has said in His word in Exodus 22:28
"Do not blaspheme God or curse the ruler of your people". It is He who sets Kings on their thrones and Presidents in office and only He can remove them. In His inifinite and unsearchable wisdom He has made His choice. President-Elect Obama said that for those whose votes he didn't get he is their President also. Just as the heavens are over the earth, so are God's ways and thoughts over ours. He has His plan and his reasoning for His choice.

On the other side of that coin, which may sound a little contradictory, just as the people in Israel clamored for a King and God gave them King Saul, so in this instance He may have given America whom they wanted. We don't know how He will work in the life and heart of our new President, but we must trust that God knows just what he's doing.

So here is my prayer; join me if you desire to do so.

"Heavenly Father we come before Your Holy presence in humility. You have said come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Father we know that all of your decisions are right and true and that you raise rulers up for your own purposes. Before time began You knew that this moment in time would happen. Though we don't know Your ultimate will, we know that You have prepared a task for him and only You know how it will unfold. Just as newly ordained King Solomon said when You appeared to him during the night in a dream, and said, "Ask for whatever you want Me to give you." Solomon answered, "You have shown great kindness to your servant, my father David, because he was faithful to you and righteous and upright in heart. You have continued this great kindness to him and have given him a son to sit on his throne this very day.

"Now, O LORD my God, You have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.Your servant is here among the people You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern Your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of Yours?" The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, "Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have you asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be".

Father God we also ask that you protect President-Elect Obama and his family. For you have said 'touch not my annointed one'. You have given him an opportunity to make history in a land where our African-American history began. From the first slave that was brought to these shores, you ordained this day, November 4, 2008 to take place. Bring out in him what you have equipped him with. Guide him in this time of financial difficulty and uncertainty. Counsel him in a dangerous world. Most of all O' Lord let him know that if he seeks Your face You will never leave nor forsake him. Set Your love upon him.

Let him be a President that gains the respect of all inhabitants of this mighty nation as well as the nations of the world and it's leaders. Make him a strong, unwaivering and wise Commander-In-Chief. As you have said in Your book Habukkuk "Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told" Lord, we are indeed amazed.

There is no God like you. We thank you for hearing this prayer from our hearts to Yours. In the name of The Lord of Lords and The King of Kings Jesus The Christ, we say Amen and Amen".

God Bless,
Your servant Nate
