Today’s post is a compilation of my thoughts, rants, updates, and ramblings; and maybe even some things that just make you go “hmmm”. Take note and enjoy.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright is scheduled to appear on PBS on Friday, April 25. In his first interview since snippets of his preaching became a central issue in the U.S. presidential campaign, Wright will appear on Bill Moyers Journal.

Moyers, a member of Riverside Church (UCC/American Baptist) in New York City, is a critically-acclaimed public affairs journalist who is known for his thoughtful attention to the intersection of politics, religion and the media.

Wright is scheduled to speak at the NAACP Detroit Branch on Sunday, April 27 and a breakfast gathering at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on the 28th.

Should be very interesting…and bet Fox is so ticked off they could just s*it! Can't wait to hear how they spin this news!

Trinity United Church of Christ seeks support in holding the Chicago-Sun Times and reporter Art Gobal accountable for their despicable act of making a public mockery of the funeral services of Justice R. Eugene Pincham on Saturday, April 12. They are asking that if you are in agreement, to voice your concerns by contacting Golab and the Sun-Times!

It seems that a hoax orchestrated by 33-year-old Rozita Swinton is the reason for removing 400+ children from the polygamist Texas compound. According to ABC News Affiliate, KJCT 8, Swinton was arrested and charged with false reporting to authorities and is being investigated for her alleged involvement in the call that tipped off authorities.

So, let me make sure I understand this. Swinton supposedly called the authorities pretending to be a 16 year-old white girl who had recently had a baby by a 50 year old LDS polygamist. Right? And as a result, women and some 400 children were removed from the compound, placed in “custody” all under the guise of having ample evidence that children were being abused. Right? And now these folks are trying to get their kids back – but they have to go to court first. Right?

Remember that old cut by the Tams? I just might post it as my OSF cut, because I really don’t know “What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am”?

I agree with The Field Negro, I think the FLDS women are
the real Stepford Wives.

Obliged to you for hearing me, and now old Sojourner('s Place) ain't got nothing more to say. ~~SjP

5 sojourners hollin' back

Regarding the FLDS situation, the question is: what is really, really important?

I viewed the video exposing the drug-riddled Texas Foster Care system at:
http://dayofpraise.blogspot.com/

I have also read over 1,000 thought-provoking comments by outraged citizens at:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/free-the-innocent-flds

It seems this is huge historically.

First CP, much obliged for stopping by and speaking here at SjP's. I don't disagree that this is huge and the backlash will no doubt be deafening. What befuddles me is the fact that pundits would have us believe that the investigations began with a phone call that is now considered to be a hoax. That insults my intelligence almost as much as being told that the caller was a 33-year old black woman who probably couldn't get near that compound given how these folks feel about Black people. Food for thought, SjP.

I hadn't heard about Wright being on Moyers' show. That should be interesting!

And ... wow, that's the FLDS story now? It's all the Black people's fault? How does that work?

Tom, much obliged for stopping by and speaking on SjP's. I hadn't heard about the Reverand being on Moyers's show either until I got an email about yesterday. That will be one to tape, tivo, dvr or transcribe in shorthand because its probably the most important interview of this election season.

Yep...that's the story...and I have no idea how that happened or how that works either. If you find out let me know. SjP

Passing the buck, shifting the blame is so the American Way. That wasn't a hoax maybe a msisrepresentation knowing it was the only was to bring that 'What' to an end? It worked didn't it?

If authorities didn't feel there was some truth and validity to abuse in this - these fair maidens puppets on a string wouldn't be making their rounds on television - "They won't give us our babies back!"

Babies? I had babies and I didnt give them away to get pregnant or married at age 10 - stupid stupid stupid stupid Did I say stupid????!!!!
