Sojourner's Place

not racism but racial resentment?

Posted by SjP in , ,

You got to hear this one for yourself. Geraldine Ferraro is right back at it with her racial over and undertones. Now she says that what's happening is "racial resentment" not "racism" that is keeping those "working, hard working, white, hard working white Americans" from voting for Obama! Somebody please tell me WHAT THE HELL IS RACIAL RESENTMENT AND HOW IS THAT DIFFERENT FROM RACISM? An inquiring mind wants to know!

Just listen to this
Greta interview with Geraldine Ferraro from last night. Have these folks been covering the same campaign I've been watching or what?

Here's another Geraldineism you gotta read:
Geraldine Ferraro, calling Barack Obama "sexist," may not back him

Holla Back!

Obliged to you for hearing me, and now old Sojourner's Place ain't got nothing more to say.

10 sojourners hollin' back

OMG! Sojouner! What the h___ does she mean that Obama's campaign is about all kinds of things that have nothing to do with them (referring to white Americans)? Sojourner, what has happened to all these liberals who all this time have been open to civil rights and diversity and equality...There are people in my life who all of a sudden refuse to vote for Obama - and why? This is push coming to shove - white liberals AFRAID and afraid of what? Afraid of a black man? God I can't stand it! Obama must be the next president! He stands for everything I believe in...ending the war in Iraq, abortion choice, education reform, women's rights, civil rights, etc.

Teach! I hear you! Obviously, it is no longer correct politically or humanly to judge folks by the content of their character rather than by the color of their skin! The more things change, the more things stay the same.

These "hard-working Americans" who think that Obama doesn't speak to them haven't been listening because he is Black; let's just be real about that. Obama and her are very similar in where they stand on the issues and only differ on certain things, and the only reason that she has been able to reach them and they have listened to her more than him is simply based on the color of his skin. Racial resentment=racism whenever you get through with it...

And this sexism crap that her camp keeps talking about? THEY injected this race with it...

Ms M, I beginning to think that this new term "racial resentment" is the term used by so-called liberal white folks to define what's generally termed "reverse discrimination". You know, no good democrat would ever say that he/she is against AA - so they'll throwing this around to say the very same thing. But a rose by any other name is still a rose. And racism is still racism even when they call it racial resentment.

But not only did THEY inject race into this campaign, THEY also injected gender when SHE said to think about what it would be like to have a woman president and then she went off crying back in January.

Bottomline here is that Obama has beaten and is beating every White male in the race. He's beating the only white female left in the race. I just want to tell her that she lost this run because you showed your true colors and WE DON'T LIKE YOU!!!

I cannot beleive that this woman was serious. Racism against white people? Who is she kidding. The most privileged group of people on the planet subject to racism. Talk about not owning your racial privilege. I am not an Obama fan but he has not leveled any sexism at the HRC campaign it has come directly from the media and that is who she should be attacking.
What Ferraro is doing is playing on white fear. Dear lord we must stop the advancing dark hordes.

Renee- She was and is quite serious! No one has really leveled any sexism against HRC. In the past, she's proven that she could run and play with the boys and oftimes run and play better than the boys! And as for Geraldine, well it high time she went back into the woodwork!

She needs to switch the GOP party, she sounds like a Republican and that's why Fox News just loves having her on the show.

She's concerned with sexism in the campaign, and she just attacked Michelle Obama before she gave her answer. I believe in Michelle's last interview she praised Michelle Obama. Now I know why her ticket lost, she's ignorant. That has nothing to do with rather or not she votes for Obama, in general election, that's a primary answer.

This sexism argument is so funny, what about Black women, who suffer both racism and sexism.

Who gives a crap?! She can think about it until her head explodes, personally I have grown tired of the hoopla and media coverage about WHITE WOMEN ARE NOT SUPPORTING OBAMA and HE NEEDS THEIR VOTE TO WIN.

Hell, HRC has their support and vote and she's at the bottom of the totem pole - she's losing. I'm sick of this you've got to have the white woman vote to win AS IF my vote women of color, the Afrikkkan American Black Woman Voter is not as equally important.

November cannot get her quick enough or just make him the official Nominee, already.

Geraldine is in the same boat as Barbara Walters old tired washed up and out - say Goodnight John Boy!

Mrs. G & Vickilynne- as Sojourner Truth said on the issue of the right to vote for women "AND AIN'T I A WOMAN"? I think that says it all!
