Sojourner's Place

the irony of it all...

Posted by SjP in , ,

Tonight, just over 200 years after the abolishment of the American Slave Trade, I overwhelmed by the irony of tonight's historical event. Think about it. Barack Obama is on his way to being the first Black President of the United States. But wait, Barack Obama is African...a true African born American.

Who would have thought it that those 400+ year old chickens would come home to roost right in the White House? Just goes to show you that the Man Up Stairs is still in control and He may not come when you want Him but He's always on time! And I think He's got a heck of a sense of humor.

Holla Back!

Obliged to you for hearing me, and now old Sojourner's Place ain't got nothing more to say.

3 sojourners hollin' back

Whether you agree with him or not, Barack Obama has made history and he did so on the shoulders of people like Marcus Garvey, Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King Jr., Johnnie Carr, Rosa Parks, Joseph Lowery, Ralph Abernathy, Malcolm X, Medgar Evers, Thurgood Marshall and so many other great leaders and people who fought for civil rights for blacks in America. I am simply elated at what has happened in this country and the whole world watched in admiration and awe, in many places.

The slave traders never would have thought that the choosen one would be the son of a Continental African.
